take a number. take the wall.
Climbing is built from small moments — the preparation, the hesitation, the attempt, the fall, and eventually, the send. I photograph the full experience with a documentary approach that preserves both the movement and the emotion behind it.
Sessions can be created around bouldering, top rope, lead climbing, outdoor routes, personal milestones, competitions, or content for athletes and climbing brands.

why hire a climbing photographer?
more than proof you were there
Phone photographs can document a climb. Thoughtful photography can preserve how it felt.
By planning around the route, available light, movement, and safest shooting position, I create images that show the height, tension, surroundings, and personality of the climber— not merely the wall behind them.
Every session includes a mix of action, environmental, and documentary images designed to feel cohesive as a complete story.
For outdoor sessions, aerial coverage may also be available when the location, regulations, weather, and safety conditions allow.
how it works
behind the camera
I’m Carlos Barrientos, the photographer and creative director behind losiento. My work combines portraiture, documentary storytelling, motion, and aerial imagery.
As a climber and outdoor photographer, I understand that the strongest climbing images require more than technical camera knowledge. They require patience, route awareness, respect for the climber, and an understanding of the environment around the ascent.
Based in Austin, Texas and available for indoor and outdoor assignments throughout Central Texas.

I do my best to turn around all my projects as hastily as possible without sacrificing quality. Each project varies dependent on the work for each and once we schedule a date I can provide you with a more realistic timeline.
